About the role

Central Market is seeking a Production Specialist with availability to include days, evenings, and weekends to handle the freshest quality ingredients. Production Specialists work under direct supervision, applying basic and some advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment appropriate to area of specialization, and accept responsibility for achieving goals/objectives. Use of specialized subject matter knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Mix, shape, bake, wrap and stock products
• Ensure quality control of all product before sending to sales floor
• Maintain sanitation in the department
• Maintain organization of back storage, freezer, walk-in and production area
• Read and execute daily production list
• Calculate figures and amounts such as weights, discounts, percentages and volumes
• Provide customer service such as answering questions, taking orders on the phone
• Assist in monitoring the quality of goods and monitor shrink
• Order and receive products and supplies
• Maintain transfer records
• Prep, wrap, price, sell, and stock products continuously
• Demo, or prepare customer samples for self-serve
• Provide superlative customer service
• Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in food preparation required
• 2-5 years of related experience
• Experience with commercial production preferred
