Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of professional experience, preferably in a university environment.
  • Fiscal accountability, capability of understanding budgets.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.
  • Ability to write concise, logical reports.
  • Knowledge of standard practices in recreational sports.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work as part of, and lead a collaborative, professional team.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm.

Technical Competencies

  • PC proficient and able to use Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Some knowledge of HR theories and best practices in recruitment and staff development.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CSI Software.

Human Relations

  • Internal contacts include staff at all levels.
  • External contacts include external customers, community members, local businesses, community partners and vendors.
  • Contact involves troubleshooting, informing, exchanging information, negotiating, making recommendations, and giving information or instructions.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Office environment/recreation environment
  • No smoking environment
  • Moderate to loud noise
  • Local, regional and national travel as required
  • Evening or weekend work as required

Physical Demands

  • Sitting at desk or table for at least 70% of the work day
  • Walking or working 30% of the work day
  • Repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement (while operating computer equipment)
  • Occasional bending, stooping
  • Eyehand coordination (keyboard typing)
  • Hearing and talking
  • Extended periods of reading fine print
