Internship Program
North Country Community Mental Health offers internships for students at the Bachelor and Master levels. Interns gain valuable experience in various aspects of behavioral health services, including coordination of services, working with mental illness and intellectual or developmental disability populations, and writing assessment and treatment plans. Many interns are offered full-time positions after completing their degrees.
Education Assistance
NCCMH provides assistance with education costs for staff members. Details on the tuition reimbursement program, Michigan Reconnect, and other relevant state and federal programs are provided below.
Loan Repayment Programs
- **Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF):** Available for full-time employees. Requires 120 qualifying payments and full-time employment by a qualifying employer.
- **Michigan Reconnect:** Provides free in-district tuition for associate degrees or Pell-eligible skill certificates.
- **MI Kids Now Loan Repayment Program (MKN LRP):** Offers up to $300,000 in income-tax-free funds for up to 10 years of service.
- **State of Michigan Loan Repayment Program (MSLRP):** Provides up to $300,000 in income-tax-free funds for up to 10 years of service.
- **National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program:** Offers loan repayment for various healthcare professionals in underserved areas.
