About the role
This position leads daily department operations in a retail store, ensuring proper staffing, training, and adherence to company standards to meet performance goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory ordering, maintenance, and quality control to ensure product freshness and proper storage.
- Supervise team tasks like stocking, production, and handling spoiled products, maintaining product knowledge and sales promotions.
- Implement weekly plans, manage schedules, labor, overtime, and payroll, and ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met.
- Develop department goals, monitor forecasts, and participate in meetings at various levels.
- Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, execute corrective actions as needed, and support company values and core competencies.
- Assist with staffing, performance management, training, and career development of associates.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk extensively, with accommodation for disabilities.
- Must work in varied environments and weather conditions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; retail experience and supervisory skills preferred.
Skills
- Strong communication, organization, leadership, strategic planning, and store operations knowledge are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and possibly Spanish is desirable.
