Job Summary
Life Skills Autism Academy seeks exceptional behavior technicians with current RBT certification or willingness to complete a training course and exam within 45 days of employment. The role involves providing ABA therapy in 1:1 and group settings, collecting and summarizing data, assisting with parent/caregiver training, and maintaining a safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
- Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in the client's individualized treatment plan.
- Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
- Aid in parent and caregiver training according to the client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation following established procedures.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about client progress as directed by the BCBA/BC.
- Utilize safe and appropriate procedures while reporting critical incidents and safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
- Assist BCBA/BC in preparing client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license and car insurance (in some cases)
- At least 18 years of age
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and TB test (if applicable)
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs, running/moving quickly, and getting down on the floor
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled appointments
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain emotional control
- Patience and positive attitude
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately
- Technology proficiency for data recording and navigating digital applications
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Cultural competency and flexibility
Qualifications
- If offered, willingness to participate in background check
- Experience as: Behavioral Technician, Working with children on the Autism Spectrum, Teacher’s Aid, Tutor, CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide (not required)
