About the role

Life Skills Autism Academy is seeking exceptional behavior technicians to provide ABA therapy in a 1:1 setting under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. The primary focus is on increasing critical developmental skills such as language and communication, social, and school readiness behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training.
  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in the client's individualized treatment plan.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
  • Absorb and implement parent and caregiver training in line with the client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Ensure documentation is completed on time and following established procedures.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the BCBA/BC.
  • Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when working with clients and appropriately report all critical incidents and safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Assist BCBA/BC in preparation of client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Reliable transportation and proof of driver’s license and valid car insurance (if applicable).
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and a TB test if needed.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including getting down on the floor, lifting up to 50 lbs, and running/moving quickly.
  • Very reliable and punctual.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to maintain emotional control.
  • Patience and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of technology for data recording and navigating digital applications.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong cultural competency and flexibility.

Skills

  • Experience working as a: Behavioral Technician, Working with children with autism or other learning disabilities, Teacher’s Aid, Tutor, CNA, Caregiver or Home Health Aide.

Pay

Pay Range: $18-$25, increases based on education and experience.
