Cemetery Worker

• Prepare and maintain grave sites.
• Mow, trim, landscape, remove leaves, and perform seasonal cleanup.
• Maintain cemetery roads, walkways, buildings, and other property.
• Operate vehicles and equipment including backhoes, dump trucks, riding and walk-behind mowers, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and other power equipment.
• Assist with snow and ice removal, storm response, and other Public Works operations as needed.
• Interact with families, visitors, funeral service providers, and members of the public with professionalism, good judgment, and sensitivity.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one (1) year of experience in Public Works, cemetery operations, landscaping, grounds maintenance, equipment operation, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Hoisting License 2B or greater (obtain within 6 months).
• Massachusetts Pesticide Applicators License (obtain within 6 months).
• OSHA-10 (obtain within first 6 months).
• Significant physical activity and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Available for seasonal work, overtime, emergency response, and snow and ice removal as required.

Pay

Grade A-3, starting at $27.7953/hour.
