Cemetery Caretaker - Part-Time

State role with the Department of Veterans Services at Virginia Veterans Cemetery.

About the role

Serve Virginia's veterans and their family members by ensuring they receive the benefits, support, quality care, and recognition they have earned through service and sacrifice.

Responsibilities

• Perform all cemetery grounds maintenance procedures and practices
• Use garden/section maps, pins, and gravesite numbering system to lay out each site
• Conduct preventative maintenance on cemetery light and heavy equipment
• Operate power hand tools
• Perform plastering, plumbing, roof repairs, and carpentry
• Lift and maneuver 220-pound grave markers with the assistance of one additional person

Requirements

• High school education or GED, or six months of cemetery experience
• Valid Virginia driver’s license
• Any combination of education and job experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Pay

$22.00 per hour
