CEMA Program Engineering Manager
About the role
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced and energetic Program Engineering Manager (PEM) to contribute to our established and rapidly expanding engineering team in the CEMA Business Area. We are looking for a PEM who can coordinate and manage the engineering activities and is interested in a leadership role in a growing Product Line.
Responsibilities
- Serve as engineering focal point for all activity within the projects including strategic planning, bid and proposal support for engineering content, engineering strategy and integrated plans on programs, engineering staffing, issue reporting, and risk and opportunity management
- Project execution leadership to technical team; plan, execute, and manage all engineering efforts within the project. This includes tailoring company processes and procedures to execute research programs
- Partner and collaborate with program managers, functional engineering managers, subcontractors, and customers, and factories to ensure program goals, requirements, and needs are understood and achieved
- Monitor project plans and execution to ensure technical and work scope requirements, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained
- Effectively communicate with clear, concise messaging to teams and leadership
Requirements
Pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time onsite.
Qualifications
- Active Secret Security clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance with SAP accesses
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, and at least ten years of experience in engineering development of complex electronic systems and the transition to manufacturing
- Experience leading diverse multi-disciplinary teams in the solution of complex technical problems
- Project engineering management including organizational design, planning, estimating, design management, and product verification
- Experience introducing automation into development and test to increase quality and lower costs
- Experience using Design to Cost (DTC) methods; leading to technical solutions that meet affordability and producibility requirements
Skills
Direct experience supporting Department of War programs
Preferred: Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and cost account management (CAM) experience
