Cell Manager

About the role

The Cell Manager oversees daily production processes involving machining composite, metal, ceramic, and hybrid parts and tooling. This role involves strategic planning, scheduling, leading a team, interfacing with project teams, and ensuring efficient resource utilization.

Responsibilities

• Strategic planning and scheduling to enhance productivity
• Directing and leading a team of up to 25 personnel across multiple shifts
• Communicating with Project Teams to support scheduling and priorities
• Estimating production times and staffing needs for management decisions
• Analyzing and planning workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow
• Maintaining adequate resources for assigned tasks
• Identifying areas for improvement and implementing cross-training
• Maintaining adherence to project management guidelines
• Collaborating with Project Managers and Process Engineers to mitigate risks
• Providing on-the-job training and conducting audits
• Preparing and providing reports for operations management
• Auditing and reviewing work packets with technicians
• Ensuring documentation of processes is complete, accurate, and timely
• Managing tool inventory and availability
• Verifying previous cell's documentation completeness
• Ensuring proper materials and components are available before projects start
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years specialized training or equivalent on-the-job training relevant to the job description
• 1-3 years related job experience
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic machining experience including cutter identification, feeds and speeds, and maintenance
• Familiarity with a variety of fields' concepts, practices, and procedures
• Problem-solving skills and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
• Work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical or college degree preferred

Wage Information

The wage range for this role is between $35 - $50 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay.
