About the role
The Discovery Stage Project Manager supports Stanford Investigators in stem cell and gene therapies within the Stanford University Center for Definitive and Curative Medicine (CDCM). The role oversees the early stage development of cell and gene therapy trials, particularly within the Tissue Regeneration platform.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and operations for significant projects with business, regulatory, and technical challenges.
- Evaluate programs, policies, and procedures to identify issues and develop solutions.
- Represent the project or function within the department, unit, or school, and at the university level.
- Manage and develop outreach strategies, including relationship development, communications, and compliance.
- Develop and/or oversee budgets, manage finances, monitor, analyze, forecast, and report.
- Assess training needs and develop associated training.
- Direct and/or supervise staff.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in medical/pharmaceutical discipline, project management, or business preferred.
- Education or experience in immunology preferred.
- Knowledge of GLP, Stanford processes, regulations, and procedures.
- Firm understanding of the research process, including protocol development, project implementation, and management of Research Assistants.
- 7+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in pre-clinical research, device development, or pharmaceutical industry.
- 5+ years of team lead project management experience in a research lab setting.
- Relevant work experience at an academic institution.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated project management ability to integrate, scope, time management, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement components.
- Ability to balance customer expectations with project reality.
- Demonstrated resilience, diplomacy, influence, relationship building, and problem-solving skills in various situations.
- Keen grasp of interpersonal and impact awareness.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Project Management Certification or equivalent preferred.
Pay and Benefits
The expected pay range for this position is $120,038 to $153,486 per annum.
