About the role

Position Title: Cell Team Operator – 18 Beading 8hr second shift 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.; Department/Cost Center: 560 Cell 18; Job Type: Pay Group H00902; Reports To: Night Shift Manager; Location: Stuarts Draft, Virginia.

The purpose of this position is to safely manufacture copper fittings that meet quality specifications set both internally and by the customer. This will be accomplished chiefly through setting up and operating any and all machines in cell 18, cleaning the work area and equipment and any other assigned duties as deemed necessary by the area supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operation of manually-fed and automated machinery – safely starting, supporting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and cleaning of any and all assignable machinery; may include use of powered lift equipment and working on fixed elevated platforms.
• Inspection of manufactured fittings to quality specifications – use of plug and ring gages, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
• Clean up of work area – maintain a clean and safe work area around assigned machinery; sweeping, mopping, removal of manufacturing by‑products, and cleaning of surrounding work areas.
• Flow to available work – work in other manufacturing areas as dictated by order flow; assignments to other areas may last indeterminate periods.
• Adheres to all safety guidelines and supports safety committee participation in safety initiatives.

Requirements

• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• A High School diploma or GED is preferred.
