About the role
AECOM is actively seeking a highly skilled CEI Senior Inspector to join our team and support ongoing construction engineering and inspection efforts in the Port St Lucie, FL area. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that major transportation and infrastructure projects are delivered in accordance with FDOT standards, contract requirements, and overall project objectives.
Responsibilities
- Performs highly complex technical assignments related to field surveying and construction layout, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Verifies engineering computations, inspects construction work, and conducts field testing to maintain quality and compliance standards.
- Covers and coordinates, oversees, and provides guidance to junior inspectors to ensure consistent execution of inspection activities.
- Operates under the general supervision of the Project Administrator while exercising independent judgment in daily responsibilities.
- Utilizes experience and sound judgment to effectively plan, prioritize, and accomplish project goals.
- Establishes and manages project timelines and deadlines to support overall project delivery.
- Provides on-the-job training and mentorship to new team members to support their development and integration.
- Maintains accurate, organized inspection records and reports.
- Conducts daily field inspections and participates in punch list development, system testing, and commissioning activities to ensure project completion standards are met.
- Tracks and reports on quality assurance progress, identifying and addressing any deficiencies.
- Contributes to documentation for area and equipment turnover packages, ensuring completeness and accuracy for project closeout.
Requirements
- High School Diploma plus 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- U.S. Citizenship is required, due to the nature of the work.
- Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
Qualifications
- Four (4) years of CEI experience in roadway or bridge construction.
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I, CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I, CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges), CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I, CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II, CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I, CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II, CTQP Pile Driving Inspection, CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection, FDOT Intermediate MOT IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I, Nuclear Radiation Safety, Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of FDOT standards and contract requirements.
- Ability to operate surveying equipment and perform construction layout tasks.
- Proficiency in conducting field testing and inspections.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
