CEI Inspector
About the role
EXP is currently searching for an Inspector for our Tampa, FL office to work on Florida Department of Transportation projects.
Responsibilities
- Document all activities on site during duration of the contract and prepare inspection reports.
- Oversee, document, review, and assess contractor’s compliance with contractual requirements.
- Review construction documents and drawings in order to minimize issues and to reduce the potential for extra work orders during construction.
- Take accurate and detailed measurements of all work performed by the contractor to ensure accurate payments.
- Assist the Project Administrator with the review of contract submissions (critical path schedules, RFI’s etc).
- Assist the Project Administrator with staff scheduling/coordination.
- Attend progress meetings and provide feedback on ongoing construction and issues.
- Supervise Junior inspectors.
- Inspect and test soils, concrete, steel, and masonry materials for road and bridge projects.
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Observe general job safety practices.
- Monitor and inspect the Work Zone Traffic Control in accordance with contract documents.
Possibility of weekend and evening work as dictated by contract.
Requirements
- Experience as an Inspector on Florida Department of Transportation projects in the Tampa, FL area.
- High School diploma or equivalent plus (1+) years of experience in construction inspection, two years of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
- Valid driver’s license.
- CTQP Concrete Field Inspector level I.
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Inspector level I.
- CTQP Earthwork Inspector Level I & II.
- CTQP Final Estimates Level 1.
- Advanced Maintenance of Traffic certification.
