About the role
This position provides business office services for the Division of Adult Parole/Community Corrections area through monitoring and reporting financial transactions. This position will be maintaining adequate system of internal controls for checking the accuracy and reliability of accounting data; initiate improvements in accounting/tracking systems through the Business Manager.
Responsibilities
- Maintain adequate system of internal controls for checking the accuracy and reliability of accounting data.
- Initiate improvements in accounting/tracking systems through the Business Manager.
- Match documentation (requisitions, receiving reports, vendor invoices) while applying State Fiscal Rules and forwarding the completed package to Accounts Payable for payment.
- Research the unpaid invoices that are sent from Accounts Payable.
- Correspond with internal and external stakeholders on any invoice discrepancies.
- Establish procedures on the compiling and batching of various fiscal documents.
- Assure and verify approvals and coding to ensure totals equal control totals.
- Assign vendor ID number based on vendor name and address if needed and requisition number.
- Analyze data and circumstances to determine the best solution that ensures the integrity of fiscal responsibility.
- Reconcile the monthly vehicle mileage and cell phone charges.
- Aids in receiving C-Card logs and reallocating procurement card charges to appropriate accounting line coding.
- Tracks indigent housing expenditures and request purchase orders when necessary.
- Informs management of any situations needing attention regarding indigent housing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience Only: Three (3) years of *technical accounting experience.
- Education And Experience: A combination of college or university course work in finance, accounting or other business related fields and /or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to three (3) years.

Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Experience Only: Three (3) years of *technical accounting experience. This experience must be clearly described, in your own words, within the work experience section of your application to meet this requirement. A ny work experience less than full time will be prorated. Technical Accounting is defined as accounting processes that record, classify, verify, and report information related to financial transactions. Or Education And Experience: A combination of college or university course work in finance, accounting or other business related fields and /or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to three (3) years. - Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a closely related field of study.
