CDL - Water Truck Driver

About the role

MGC Contractors, Inc. is a 100% Employee Owned Corporation specializing in water and wastewater general contracting, including Job Order Contracting, Construction Manager at Risk, Design-Bid-Build, and Design-Build throughout Arizona, Texas, Utah, and New Mexico. We are currently seeking a CDL Water Truck Driver to join our Texas Division in the Alamogordo, NM Area.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a water truck to support construction activities, including dust control, soil compaction, and site maintenance.
• Perform dust control and water distribution as directed.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Monitor water levels and ensure proper truck operation.
• Report equipment issues and maintenance needs promptly.
• Assist Foremen and field crews with general labor, site preparation, and construction-related tasks when water truck operations are not required.
• Support project operations as needed to help ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned.

Physical demands and work environment

This position operates at professional construction sites, requiring the ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone. The role involves reading printed materials, signs, and directions, maintaining attention despite interruptions, and performing physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, or handling objects, supplies, tools, machinery, or controls weighing up to 50 pounds. Additional physical demands include reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs and/or ladders; balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting overhead, and navigating various construction sites safely.

This position operates in a professional field environment, working outside for long periods in all weather conditions, including extreme hot and cold temperatures. Employees may be exposed to chemicals, vapors, pollutants, viruses or other pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines, and dust/debris.

Position type and expected hours of work

This is a full-time position with occasional overtime and weekend work as job duties demand.

Minimum qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid CDL Class A or B with Tanker Endorsement.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (past 3 years) preferred.
