CDL Water Truck Driver

About the role
This onsite position in Abilene, TX involves hauling water in 5,000-gallon tanker trucks. The role requires adaptability to shifting tasks based on workflow demands, including dust control on construction sites and supporting heavy equipment operators during excavation and earthwork. The truck’s auxiliary pump and fire hose will be used to create backfill material and wash down equipment as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Operate water trucks safely both off-road and on-road
- Apply basic knowledge of mass excavation methods and soils testing
- Maintain a clean CDL driving record
- Comply with DOT regulations, including possession of a current medical card
Requirements
- Current Class A or Class B Commercial Driver License with tank endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating commercial vehicles with tanks of at least 2,000 gallons
- Acceptable 5-year driving history and PSP report
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, and operational heavy machinery
- Frequent climbing on/off equipment and navigating uneven surfaces
- Constant awareness of employee activities and proximity to the traveling public
- Willingness to work with materials such as oil, grease, gasoline, and diesel fuel

- All construction field positions are safety-sensitive; candidates must pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen
