CDL Test Driver

About the role

Beltway Companies is a leading Heavy-Duty Truck Dealership in the Mid-Atlantic region. We are seeking a Full-Time CDL Test Driver to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Perform road tests on medium- and heavy-duty trucks following completion of repairs and service
• Verify that all reported issues have been resolved and repairs meet quality standards
• Maintain vehicle performance, including braking, steering, acceleration, shifting, engine response, and other systems
• Document and communicate test results clearly and accurately to the Service Manager and/or Technicians
• Follow all DOT, company, and safety regulations while operating trucks
• Support the service team in maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction

Requirements

• Valid CDL B or A driver’s license with a clean driving record required
• At least 5 years of commercial driving or equivalent mechanical/service experience required
• Prior experience operating and/or testing medium- and heavy-duty trucks
• Basic mechanical knowledge of truck systems (brakes, engines, transmissions, etc.)
• Able to communicate effectively with service staff and management
• Commitment to safety, professionalism, and high-quality work

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who not only possess the above requirements but also bring a positive attitude and passion to our team. Prior diesel dealership experience is a plus, but we welcome applications from individuals with relevant skills and a strong work ethic.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20 - $22 per hour based on experience.

Hours may vary based on business needs, but typically include a mix of day and evening shifts.
