CDL Route Driver

Waste Connections is looking for a safety-conscious CDL Route Driver to join our growing team in Bridgeton, MO.

Pay

$24 - $25 per hour with a $10,000 sign-on bonus paid out quarterly over one year.

Schedule

Monday - Friday with occasional Saturdays. 5:00 AM start time, working 50-55 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste (waste experience preferred, but not required).
• Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles, such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading, sometimes with no helpers.
• Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
• Interact courteously with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Extensive physical activity requiring strenuous work, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.
• Work environment involves exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts; basic safety precautions are required.
• Exposure to outside weather conditions, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, and vibration.
• Moderate noise levels are typical.

Requirements

• Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement (minimum requirement).
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
• Basic knowledge of truck components to complete pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Ability to work Monday – Friday with some Saturdays, approximately 50-55 hours per week with paid overtime.
• Must be 21 years of age or older to operate a commercial vehicle.
