Essential Functions
- Absorbs total responsibility for the safe operation of all required equipment.
- Performs pre-post trip inspections.
- Operates and functions in wet and dry vacuum trucks.
- Performs hydroblasting services, including advanced lance/shotgun operation.
- Operates hydraulic pumps.
- Operates jetter trucks.
- Loads and unloads equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Performs manual tasks and assists co-workers.
- Performs general maintenance tasks to keep machinery, equipment, and tools in operable condition.
- Cleans vehicles, trucks, and equipment.
- Follows safety procedures, including lock-out tag out, confined space entry, housekeeping, and company-specific procedures.
- Reports potential issues or concerns to Industrial Manager/Branch Manager.
- Ensures tasks are performed safely with the highest level of quality and integrity.
- Arrives at office or jobsite on time and ready to work.
- Adheres to company policies.
- Wears and properly uses personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Works when scheduled and complies with the company attendance policy.
- Attends all safety and health training, as required.
- Travel is required, sometimes for long periods, to perform this work.
Marginal Functions
- Assists in other areas as needed, including but not limited to Shop, Parts, Inventory, and Municipal.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Communicate effectively with the crew and division personnel and negotiate with members of all backgrounds and personalities.
- Physically control industrial hydro-blasting and vacuum equipment.
- Perform work conducted in and around confined spaces and at elevated heights.
- Enter Confined Spaces such as close quarters, crawl spaces, manholes, and other areas which could cause claustrophobia for cleaning purposes.
- Work with a safety-first, positive attitude and contribute to a team.
- Use applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situations.
- Read, write, and communicate in English effectively.
- Work well under pressure.
- Demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Be adaptable to change with short notice.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures while maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
Qualifications
- Complete all pre and post-training, including safety, new hire, and regulatory.
- Complete all required safety-related training, including, but not limited to, TWIC, 10 Hour OSHA, Confined Space, Confined Space Entry, Hazardous Materials Emergency Response, Breathing Air Equipment Training and Fit Test, Aerial Lift Training, Lock Out Tag Out, Heat Stress, MSHA, Defensive Driving, Hazard Communications, and H2S.
- One year of technician experience is required.
- Pass a drug screen, background, and motor vehicle check.
