CDL Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate and safely drive assigned vehicles with a GVW over 26,000 lbs.
• Check in, pick up, and safely transport goods to the intended destination.
• Ensure contents are properly secured to prevent damage or injury.
• Obtain signatures to confirm and complete pickup/delivery processes.
• Aid in mapping driving routes and communicating with dispatch as required.
• Load acceptance confirmation, advise planned loading schedules, check in at shipper/loading/dispatch, en-route, and arrival at consignee/unloading/dispatch.
• Confirm that the contents of each shipment load match the manifest document.
• Upload scanned paperwork to work application, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, check weather conditions and road reports before departure, and maintain a clean vehicle.
• Maintain and service the vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, check tire pressure, perform repairs, etc.).
• Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
• Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times.
• Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs on ELD, track and report working hours, adhere to company rules and regulations, obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to weather/road conditions, comply with ICC and FMCSA/DOT regulations, and observe OT regulations.
