Ray’s Roofing is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Flatbed Truck Driver to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys driving, working outdoors, and performing hands-on work in a fast-paced building materials environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate assigned CDL flatbed commercial vehicles to deliver roofing and building materials to job sites, customers, and company locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns promptly.
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload roofing and building materials in accordance with company procedures and DOT requirements.
- Properly secure loads using straps, chains, tarps, and other required equipment.
- Operate forklifts, piggyback/Moffett equipment, conveyors, and other material-handling equipment as needed.
- Complete deliveries accurately, safely, and on time.
- Maintain all required logs, delivery tickets, paperwork, and reports in compliance with company policy and DOT regulations.
- Provide professional, courteous, and helpful customer service at delivery locations.
- Assist with warehouse and yard operations as needed, including:
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Restocking and organizing inventory
- Organizing materials and maintaining a clean and safe yard
- Assisting with inventory control
- General warehouse and yard labor
- Follow all company safety policies and applicable OSHA and DOT regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck, equipment, and work area.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, warehouse personnel, and management.
- Support team operations and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B license.
- Air Brake Endorsement required.
- Previous Commercial Driving Experience Required.
- Clean and acceptable driving record.
- Flatbed or building-material delivery experience preferred.
- Experience operating a forklift, piggyback/Moffett, conveyor, or similar material-handling equipment preferred.
- Ability to safely secure, load, transport, and unload materials.
- Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional attitude.
- Ability to adapt to changing delivery schedules and operational needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 75–90 pounds and assist with heavier materials when needed.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and repetitive movement.
- Ability to climb onto and around trucks and trailers and safely perform loading/unloading activities.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
- Ability to safely perform all essential job functions in accordance with ADA requirements.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays
- Typical hours may include: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Hours may vary based on delivery schedules, customer needs, and operational requirements.
