About the role

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of package products locally and out of town to a variety of customers. Package drivers will also handle selecting, loading, and unloading products of various sizes, weights, and packaging. The role requires a constant focus on cleanliness inside and outside the facility and trucks.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip DOT truck inspections and report any defects to the immediate supervisor.
• Follow all DOT regulations and obey all rules of the road.
• Maintain all required documents by the company or DOT.
• Utilize electronic devices and delivery documents.
• Load package products safely onto trucks/trailers.
• Deliver products to local and out-of-town customers.
• Move various sizes and weights of package products by hand or using mechanical means such as handcarts, pallet jacks, or fork trucks.
• Transfer products from package containers to customer tanks or drums.
• Assist in shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, and checking in products corresponding to BOLs (Bills of Lading).
• Read customer work orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas.
• Mark materials with identifying information on row cards.
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed on work orders and BOLs.
• Operate fork trucks, electric pallet jacks, and shrink wrap machines safely.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Valid CDL Class B Driver’s License (minimum).
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.
• Current and valid DOT Physical.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Ability to work in all types of weather and driving conditions.
• Must be a commutable distance from Valparaiso, IN.

Pay

$24.00–$27.00 per hour.

Schedule

• Core hours: 4:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
• Schedule options: Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday.
• Additional hours may be required based on production volume or customer needs.
