About the role
In this role, you will operate a commercial motor vehicle and play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of our beverages to customers. This is a union role, and shifts can change based on seniority.
Schedule
- Shift start times may vary depending on business needs (12:00am, 3:00am, 4:00am, and 5:00am start times).
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as directed by the business.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, routes, and delivery demands.
Pay
- Starting pay: $30.11/HR.
- After completion of 1040 hours: $33.46/HR.
- Bonus structure dependent on role.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maneuver commercial delivery vehicles to transport beverages to designated retail locations.
- Follow predetermined delivery routes and schedules, ensuring on-time and accurate deliveries while adapting to various traffic and weather conditions.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure the well-being of yourself, other road users, and the cargo.
- Safely load and unload beverage products utilizing proper handling techniques to prevent damage or breakage.
- May stock beverage products and maintain back rooms/back stock areas as requested by the store or management.
- Pick up and return pallets, shells, and assigned product at each delivery location.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify and report any maintenance or safety issues.
- Utilize electronic devices or paper documentation to confirm deliveries, track inventory, and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure accurate inventory counts and resolve any discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and dispatchers to provide updates on delivery progress, delays, or issues.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle, both internally and externally.
- Interact professionally with store personnel and establish positive relationships with store managers and staff.
- Maintain a valid CDL-A license.
- Complete all assigned training.
- Attend meetings as assigned and assist with special projects and events.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or GED) and/or equivalent degree/certificate required.
- CDL-A License required.
- Interstate License required.
- Ability to drive manual transmission preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Driving record must meet Swire’s vehicle policy requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; physical capability to lift and move heavy beverage cases repeatedly throughout the day.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers, clients, and team members.
