Responsibilities
- Performs complete pre- and post-operation inspection of a commercial vehicle in accordance with FCC policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, etc. are in proper working order.
- Safely operates commercial vehicles on assigned routes to include highways, residential communities, and alleyways.
- Operates manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with FCC's safety policies and procedures.
- Courteously interacts with all necessary personnel, dispatchers, and others on a daily basis to ensure all services are completed in a timely and professional manner.
- Continuously monitors the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize downtime.
- Accurately completes required documents and other reports as required.
- Maintains adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.
- Responsible for adhering to and upholding all safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Class B commercial driver’s license.
- Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary.
- Must meet all qualifications as defined under Department of Transportation regulations.
- Drug-free workplace; substance abuse testing is a condition of the initial on-boarding process and continuation of employment.
