CDL Driver / Laborer
The Role
We're looking for a dependable CDL Driver to safely operate our trucks and commercial vehicles, transporting crews, materials, and equipment to and from active job sites. This is a dual role: when you're not behind the wheel, you'll be a hands-on member of the crew, supporting field operations and general labor duties.
What You'll Do
Driving (primary responsibility): Safely operate company trucks and commercial vehicles to transport crews, materials, tools, and equipment
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Maintain compliance with DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and all applicable traffic laws
Keep accurate driving logs and required documentation
Secure loads properly and ensure safe transport of materials and equipment
Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and basic upkeep of assigned vehicles
Report vehicle concerns, mechanical issues, or incidents to leadership promptly
Labor & Field Support
Assist field crews with daily construction and utility operations
Load, unload, move, and organize materials and equipment at job sites
Support excavation, restoration, and general construction activities
Operate basic hand tools and construction equipment safely
Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas and job sites
Report unsafe conditions or incidents to leadership
Working Conditions
This is an active, hands-on role that combines driving with physical work on construction sites. You'll spend time both on the road and in the field, working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Travel may be required based on project needs.
Requirements
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
Clean driving record and ability to meet DOT and company driving standards
Experience operating trucks, trailers, or commercial vehicles
Previous construction, labor, telecom, or utility experience preferred
Willingness to perform general labor and crew support duties when not driving
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and field conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
OSHA certification preferred; telecom or construction certifications a plus
Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-first attitude
