About the role
The CDL Driver - Hazmat operates commercial vehicles to deliver products to customer locations or job sites, adhering to DOT regulations and FMCSA guidelines. This role is crucial for maintaining a reliable and safe supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Follow DOT rules and maintain a clean driving record
- Comply with federal and state regulations for hazmat transport
- Inspect vehicles before and after trips
- Load, unload, and organize orders carefully
- Double-check purchase orders and delivery tickets
- Support job site safety by checking for hazards
- Take photos of all delivered products
- Keep accurate records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and receipts
- Directly report to the Branch Manager
Requirements
- Valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT endorsement
- Clean driving record
- DOT medical certification
- FMCSA registration
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- Must be 21 years old for hazmat transport
- Age 21 or older
- Physical requirements: ability to bend, crouch, stand, and sit for extended periods
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT compliance
- Basic computer skills for recording deliveries and tracking inventory
- Preferred: air brake endorsement, commercial driving experience, forklift certification, Moffett certification
