Reports to the Manager – Warehouse.

About the role

Driver – Class “B” is responsible for making daily deliveries of Company product to customers using a Company-provided vehicle. This position also involves operating and maintaining a Company “pump truck” to deliver bulk oil and/or other merchandise, conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, maintaining a daily travel log, and handling shipping papers and invoices.

Starting pay rate: $18/hour (pay commensurate with experience).

Responsibilities

  • Transporting bulk oil and miscellaneous stock via the “pump truck.”
  • Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking gasoline, oil, water, and tires, and filling as required.
  • Recording any malfunctions of equipment on the Inspection Sheet for review by the supervisor and Safety Manager.
  • Loading and unloading trucks both manually and using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
  • Maintaining daily log sheets, including entering miles and times at each stop.
  • Maintaining delivery, truck, and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgments, recording tracking information, completing driver logs, and truck performance forms.
  • Operating the multi-tank system on the trucks.
  • Following safety measures while filling customer tanks.
  • Handling money from customers and making change if necessary.
  • Presenting a good image of the company through proper dress and attitude.
  • Maintaining safe operation and clean appearance of the vehicle by complying with organizational policy, procedure, and standards, as well as state, local, and DOT driving rules and regulations.
  • Maintaining a clean vehicle, both exterior and interior.
  • Maintaining a satisfactory attendance record.
  • Keeping shelves, pallet areas, workstations, and shipping supply areas neat in the warehouse.
  • Complying with all OSHA and company safety procedures, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement.
  • Must be able to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  • Courteous treatment of and assistance to customers.
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury and damage to self and others when operating a company vehicle.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Work involves continual walking, lifting, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching.
  • Frequent climbing and descending of stairs.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. continuously.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Must successfully complete a background check and criminal history check.
  • Must pass a physical, human performance evaluation, and a drug test.
  • Attitude that supports the Company’s goals and values.
  • Must maintain regular and prompt attendance.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of verifiable experience driving a Class B Tanker.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Must have a clear driving record for the previous 3 years.
