About the Role
This position reports to the Manager – Warehouse. The Class “B” Driver is responsible for making daily deliveries of Company product to customers using a Company-provided vehicle. The role includes operating and maintaining a Company “pump truck” to deliver bulk oil and other merchandise, conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, maintaining a daily travel log, and handling shipping papers and invoices.
Responsibilities
- Transport bulk oil and miscellaneous stock via the “pump truck.”
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking gasoline, oil, water, and tires, and refilling as required.
- Record any equipment malfunctions on the Inspection Sheet for review by the supervisor and Safety Manager.
- Load and unload trucks manually and using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
- Maintain daily log sheets, including entering miles and times at each stop.
- Maintain delivery, truck, and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgments, recording tracking information, completing driver logs, and truck performance forms.
- Operate the multi-tank system on the trucks.
- Follow safety measures while filling customer tanks.
- Handle money from customers and make change if necessary.
- Present a professional image of the company through proper dress and attitude.
- Maintain safe operation and clean appearance of the vehicle in compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and state/local/DOT driving regulations.
- Keep the vehicle clean, both exterior and interior.
- Maintain a satisfactory attendance record.
- Keep the warehouse work environment safe and clean by organizing shelves, pallet areas, workstations, and shipping supply areas.
- Comply with all OSHA and company safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Texas driver’s license.
- Must possess a CDL license.
- Must have a clear driving record for the previous 3 years.
- Must successfully complete a background check, criminal history check, physical exam, human performance evaluation, and drug test.
- Must maintain regular and prompt attendance.
- Must have one (1) year of verifiable driving experience.
Qualifications
- Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Courteous treatment of and assistance to customers.
- High degree of attention to prevent injury and damage while operating a company vehicle.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving continual walking, lifting, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching.
- Ability to climb and descend stairs frequently.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. continuously.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Attitude that supports the Company’s goals and values.
Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
