CDL Driver
About the role
Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with OSHA and Vulcan standards.
Operate Lowboy and Heavy Equipment. Operate a lowboy trailer in an efficient manner.
Inspect Equipment. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with Vulcan standards.
Complete daily mobile equipment reports and other relevant documentation with accuracy.
Maintain Equipment. Maintain equipment performance by checking vehicle fluid levels, and assist in performing other minor maintenance.
Report unsafe mechanical conditions to supervisor.
Monitor Processes, Materials, and Surroundings. Must have the ability to assist with other duties on the HA5 crew when needed.
Skills
- Previous Lowboy Experience or experience operating Tri-Axles/End Dump Trailers.
- Class A commercial driver’s license and valid DOT physical or the ability to obtain one.
- Tanker Endorsement (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing heavy construction equipment.
- Experience with Department of Transportation rules and regulations for transporting heavy equipment.
- Willingness to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
