CDL Driver

Border Tire is a Michelin Commercial Service Network Dealer specializing in medium-duty, heavy-duty, agricultural, and industrial size tires, serving customers 24/7.

About the role

Operate a tractor/trailer to transport materials to and from specified destinations within the assigned local area. Key measures of success include high utilization of company resources, no-load refusals, and maintaining a clear record of citations and accidents.

Job Type: Full-Time. Must be available to work some Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly and consistently with high integrity.
• Maintain high utilization of hours of service (HOS) according to DOT regulations using electronic logs (E-log).
• Ensure cargo is secure to prevent shifting.
• Load and unload truck if needed.
• Complete pre-trip inspections and make necessary accommodations to trucks.
• Comply with Border-Tire and DOT safety regulations and procedures.
• Communicate with Border-Tire personnel regarding hours of service and other critical information.
• Accept loads, verify count and condition of goods/materials when permitted.
• Report overages, shortages, damages, and seal breakages to appropriate personnel.
• Immediately follow Border-Tire and DOT procedures if involved in an incident or accident.
• Comply with fuel-efficient driving guidelines.
• Properly hook/unhook trailers.

Requirements

• Class A commercial driver license (CDL); must meet insurability standards.
• Must successfully pass background and drug test pre-employment screening.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must be able to utilize both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Minimum of 12 months experience.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 40% English comprehension required by DOT.
• Must meet all DOT driver qualification regulations.
