CDL Driver

About the role

Rexel USA is one of the largest distributors of electrical products, data communication, wireless communication and related supplies in the United States. We are looking for a CDL Driver to join our Mayer Team in Richmond, VA. The CDL Driver is responsible for delivering products to/from customers, company branch/warehouse locations, and company suppliers.

Responsibilities

The CDL Driver will ensure that deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements in the most efficient manner, and materials are correct and free of damage. Specific duties include:

• Inspecting company vehicle for visual and operating defects
• Completing a daily inspection report
• Keeping company vehicle clean, serviced, and maintained
• Loading or unloading vehicle and ensuring all material for each order is correct and free of damage
• Assisting in preparing orders for delivery
• Ensuring all appropriate documentation is thoroughly completed at the time of delivery
• Picking up material returns from customers and inspecting the condition of the material
• Picking up material from company suppliers
• Performing other job functions within a branch when required

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• 7+ years of driving experience and 1+ years of CDL driving experience preferred, or 1+ years of CDL driving experience required
• A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• To be at least 21 years of age
• To pass a pre-employment and annual review of your Motor Vehicle Record
• To obtain verification of a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire

• Ability to handle loads with a combined weight of 26,000 GVW
• Ability to handle complex issues and problems
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and traffic and driver laws
• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Good attention to detail
