Job Summary
Lumber Mart, Inc. is a full-service lumberyard, truss manufacturing operation, and hardware store committed to providing exceptional customer service. As a CDL Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting lumber and building materials to and from construction sites, customer locations, and our Lumber Yards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate and drive various types of trucks (e.g., flatbeds, box trucks) to transport lumber and building materials.
- Load and unload materials onto trucks at the lumber yard and construction sites, ensuring secure and balanced loads.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries and pickups, considering traffic and road conditions.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company safety policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to ensure roadworthiness.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and hours worked.
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transport.
- Aid in the general maintenance and cleanliness of trucks and equipment.
- Follow proper procedures for securing loads to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
Requirements
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a truck driver, preferably in the lumber or construction industry.
- Knowledge of safe driving practices and DOT regulations.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on safety.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Skills
- Forklift certification or experience operating a forklift.
- Experience with strapping and securing loads.
- Familiarity with local roads and routes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, and climbing.

Pay
$20-$28 per hour depending on experience.
Schedule
Monday - Friday: 7:30-5:30 (1 hour lunch)
Saturday: 8:00 - 5:00 (1 hour lunch)
(Saturdays on a rotating schedule)
