CDL Driver
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dependable CDL Driver | Local to join our Shipping & Receiving team. As a CDL Driver, you are responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes. This is a local/regional driving role in which you will be home every night.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicle for local deliveries, ensuring timely arrival
- Safely load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of materials
- Navigate designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery records and logs as required by company policies
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Maintain high level of communication with dispatch, yard personnel, and supervisors. Demonstrate proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles as needed
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with customers at delivery points
- Recognize and adhere to best practices for safety
- Other functions and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Must have current and valid Class A CDL
- Must possess a strong understanding of route driving principles
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in truck driving roles required
- No serious tickets or accidents in the past 5 years and no DWI/DUI in the last 10 years. Familiarity with operating tractor/trailer required
- Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining delivery logs and records
- Safety and quality focused
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Must be dependable
- Able to work efficiently and effectively with little supervision required
- Must possess basic computer skills
Qualifications
