A Day in the Life at Lansing: CDL Driver
About the Role
HOME EVERY NIGHT! A CDL Driver's day usually begins around 7:00 AM—sometimes earlier—and ends at approximately 4:30 PM. Generally, there is no weekend work (hours may vary by location).
Responsibilities
- Lives the mission statement and acts as a front-line Lansing representative while providing outstanding customer service
- Splits time between making deliveries and working in the warehouse
- Uses a moffett forklift to make deliveries
- Interacts with customers and/or crews at job sites
- Provides exceptional service to each Lansing customer and constantly strives to improve that level of service
- Keeps warehouse clean and orderly
- Performs other functions as needed, such as cycle counts, inventory, or inside sales
Requirements
- CDL B (or A) license is required
- Clean driving record
- Moffett forklift experience
- Ability to work independently with efficiency and focus, as well as part of a larger team
- Ability and willingness to lift boxes weighing as much as 70 pounds
- Experience with building products is very helpful
- Strong customer service skills, high integrity, and a positive attitude
- At least one year of driving experience
- Forklift certification and experience with a piggyback truck
