CDL Driver
APAC Central Inc., a CRH company, produces and provides crushed aggregate materials, sand, ready-mix concrete, asphalt, and performs regional heavy highway/infrastructure construction serving Arkansas, Oklahoma, and southern Missouri. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available for this role.
About the role
The Class B CDL Truck Driver is responsible for operating trucks to transport dirt, aggregate, asphalt, and other materials and/or equipment to various job site locations. This position also involves working in the yard area to stockpile and move materials as needed. It is a skilled position requiring safe and efficient operation of equipment/trucks, performed per supervisor’s instructions with minimal direct supervision. This is a "Safety Sensitive" position.
Responsibilities
- Operates truck in a safe and professional manner on public highways, roads, in the yard area, and at various job sites to deliver materials. Trucks driven include dump trucks and semi-tractor trucks with attached trailers.
- Performs daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines.
- Follows all company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment.
- Reports any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
- Obeys applicable laws and follows dispatch instructions.
- Keeps vehicle in a clean and orderly condition.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance at assigned times.
- Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as required by OSHA and/or MSHA, including face shield, safety (hard toe) shoes, and coveralls.
- Complies with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of verifiable commercial truck driving experience.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must pass DOT physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
- MVR must meet company and DOT standards.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Must maintain a current CDL A or CDL B license; hazmat and tanker endorsements may be required.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Pay
$20.50 an hour, depending on experience.
