CDL Delivery Driver

About the role

US Foods is seeking dependable, safety-focused, and customer-oriented CDL A Delivery Drivers to join our transportation team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As a Delivery Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring customers receive food products, supplies, and equipment accurately and on time while serving as one of the key faces of the US Foods brand. Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles and deliver products to customer locations.
• Unload merchandise using hand trucks and place items in customer storage areas.
• Perform repeated, manual heavy lifting of items up to 80 pounds.
• Make frequent stops during a work shift.
• Deliver product in various weather conditions.
• Verify delivery of items with customers.
• Collect money (cash or checks) where needed.
• Deliver best-in-class customer service to meet scheduled delivery times and maintain productivity.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid CDL A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and be DOT (Department of Transportation) qualified.
• Minimum six months of commercial truck driving experience or three months of foodservice or food and beverage truck delivery experience required.
• Registration with the FMCSA Clearinghouse is required by the Department of Transportation.

Pay

The expected base rate for this role is between $25.65 and $41.00 per hour. During the 90-day training period, drivers will earn $25.65 per hour plus time and a half for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek. After training, drivers transition to component pay. Guaranteed minimum 40 hours per week with paid overtime.

Schedule

Monday through Friday with early morning start times between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM. Local routes allow drivers to be home every night.
