Duties And Responsibilities
- The domicile driver will be expected to transport, deliver, and/or unload metal roofing panels to customers in a safe and timely manner to our dealers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer.
- This is an over the road delivery driving position.
- Safely assist in the unloading of the product using a Moffett to customer's location and/or return products.
- Deliver material in "route truck/multi-drop" fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations.
- Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speed in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in tight loading dock areas.
- Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by law.
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
- Able to answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content. If unable to answer specific questions, direct customer to appropriate contact.
- Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly.
- Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment.
- Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Have an acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record.
- 2 years of previous tractor-trailer driving experience including winter driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable).
- Valid Medical Card.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Able to work effectively with people in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable.
- Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when performing work.
- Able to stoop, bend, stand for long periods of time.
- Able to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
