CDL Class A Driver (Transport)

About the role

Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and have expanded throughout the Midwest.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
• Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
• Drive between terminals to transport parcels
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards
• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types of freight including, but not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions

Pay

• $23.00–$27.00 per hour, based on experience
• $5.00 shift premium for start times between 5:00 pm – 4:59 am
• Paid overtime at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• 10–15 hours of overtime expected each week
• $10,000 sign-on bonus for CDL Class-A drivers

• Monday–Friday
• Start at 8:30 pm
