CDL Class A Driver

Responsibilities

• Operates a semi-truck according to all applicable state and federal transportation laws
• Pick-up and delivery of ocean containers, verify loads/empties for accuracy and deliver as instructed
• Maintain truck maintenance logs; comply with all safe work practices, policies at all times. Report damage, defects accidents, traffic violations to Manager by completing DVIR and pre-trip on tractors
• Complete and verify accuracy of dispatch manifest to be turned daily

Requirements

• Possess and maintain a valid Class A CDL
• Need to either have Haz Mat endorsement or willing to get it within 90 days
• Meet I-9 requirements
• Have a safe and clean MVR with no major convictions
• Have 24 months verifiable tractor/trailer driving experience within the previous 36 months
• Adequate knowledge of traffic laws and DOT regulations
• Ability to read, speak and write the English language in accordance with DOT regulations
• Ability to perform functions of job description
• Must have 2 years experience of local drayage in and out of the Kansas City depots and rail yards

Qualifications

• Pass background screen, DOT drug screen (No prior positive or controlled substance tests at previous employers, No alcohol or control substance refusals at prior employers) and DOT physical examination with a minimum expiration of one year
• Pass Company road test
• Interpersonal skills with ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points
• Proficient with smartphones
