CDL Class A Driver

About the role

Primarily responsible for local and occasional overnight deliveries of finished steel coils. Salary range: $‎28.62 - $‎37.64; Hours: M-F, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Delivers items by identifying destinations, establishing routes, and maintaining scheduled guidelines.
• Inspects load prior to departure to ensure all cargo is secured for safe and efficient travel.
• Maintains safe operation of vehicle through safe driving practices.
• Maintains delivery, truck, and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgments, recording tracking information, completing driver logs, and truck performance forms.
• Performs all duties in compliance with safety and security standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL license with at least 3 years of CDL experience, meeting all DOT requirements.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent, with 3 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform essential duties.
• Flatbed and 48' and 53' trailer experience required; steel hauling and delivery experience preferred.
• Good driving record.

Mathematical Skills

• Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

• Interprets documents and instructions.
• Organizes and prioritizes job projects and requirements.

Physical Demands

• Uses hands to grasp and lift, and to reach with hands and arms.
• Sits, climbs, and balances.
• Lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
• Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and ability to adjust focus vision.
• Works in a noisy environment.
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
• Works both inside and outside, and on elevated balconies.
