Schedule
- Tuesday - Friday: Dependent on route, average 4 days per week
- Start Times range from: 2:00 am – 4:00 am (dependent on route)
- End Times range from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm (until the route has been completed)
- Routes will not exceed DOT hours
- Minimum of 1 overnight layover route per week (Potentially two, as schedule fluctuates)
Job Purpose And Overview
As a Driver for Dawn Foods, you will support our customers by safely and efficiently transporting product from the distribution center by driving a tractor-trailer to various customers and properly delivering and unloading product according to customer invoices and Dawn team standards. This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position.
Minimum Qualifications
- Class “A” CDL License in good standing
- Minimum of 6 months Class A Commercial driving experience
- Ability to work in the United States
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds consistently throughout work shift
- Ability to operate MHE equipment
Preferred Experience
- Experience delivering into food service accounts is preferred
- Lift-gate, reefer, electric pallet jack and forklift experience helpful
- Computer skills or experience with electronic logs helpful
Responsibilities
- Obey all federal, state, and local rules and regulations of the road including all DOT operating, recording and safe food handling procedures
- Conduct daily face to face interaction with customers, representing Dawn Foods in a friendly, competent, and professional manner
- In a DSD (direct store delivery) setting, break down product and complete shelf stacking at each stop
- Driving and maintaining multi-temp trailers
- Offloading with electric pallet jacks/two wheelers
- Performing pre and post trip vehicle inspections as well as collecting invoice receipts that are generated from the deliveries

- Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus

- Ability to withstand cool and/or cold temperatures
- Normal setting for this job is outdoors and/or driving a video/GPS-monitored vehicle
- Will be exposed to a physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements most of the workday
