CDL Class A Driver

About the role

Cornwall Building Brands is seeking a Driver to transport and deliver building materials to our customers, distribution centers, and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This is a hands-on delivery driving position.

Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver building materials to customers, distribution centers, and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer.
• Practice safe driving and delivery, and provide efficient material handling and delivery activities.
• Answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content.
• Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly.
• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Repair carts for the production floor on non-delivery days.
• Operate the Moffett to deliver material in “route truck/multi-drop” fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations.
• Assist in the unloading of the product using a Moffett to customer’s location and/ or return products.
• Ensure compliance with DOT guidelines.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of previous tractor-trailer flatbed driving experience including winter driving experience.
• Acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record.
• Valid Medical Card.
• Pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical.
• Able to work independently.
• Able to work effectively with people in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable.
• Able to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Pay and Benefits

• Base pay rate starts at $23.00 per hour.
