About the role

Responsibilities
- Maintain vehicles in a clean, organized, and safe manner
- Complete pre- and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure D.O.T. standards are met
- Process required paperwork and report vehicle inspection results to supervisor
- Be prompt and on time for work, maintaining a positive relationship with co-workers and management
- Load and unload materials, work outdoors in extreme temperatures, and follow dispatcher’s directions
- Operate various types of trucks including spreader/distributor, tanker, dump truck, slurry truck, water truck, heavy haul, seal coat truck, attenuator truck, street sweeper, and have the ability to work out of town and overtime, including weekends
- Pass a drug test at all times and adhere to FMCSA regulations
- Work with moving mechanical parts, vibrations, extreme weather conditions, and loud noises
- Have the ability to lift and move items up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 90 pounds occasionally
Requirements
- Valid state CDL Class A driver's license with Medical DOT card with no active violations within the past three years
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience and a Class A CDL with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements (for tanker positions)
- Minimum of 2 years of driving experience for all other CDL positions
- Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, extreme weather conditions, and loud noise levels
- Specific vision abilities, ability to talk, hear, and stay physically active throughout the day
- Manual transmission capability
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Able to travel 50%
Skills
- Knowledge of asphalt preservation and repair techniques
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to operate various types of heavy machinery
