CDL B Test Driver
About the role
Roush has an immediate opening for a CDL B Test Driver requiring a passenger (P) endorsement for the day shift (8 AM - 4:30 PM). The position involves driving test vehicles on designated routes or a test track, documenting functional issues, and reporting them to the development team.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class B commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT rules
- Drive vehicles on specified routes or test track
- Document functional issues encountered while driving
- Test vehicle features and systems and evaluate vehicle performance
- Complete required paperwork to document issues
- Hook and unhook trailers
- Document and log all work and rest periods and miles spent driving using an ELD
- Retain fuel/toll and hotel receipts
- Comply with DOT rules and regulations including HOS and pre/post trip inspections
- Report defects, accidents, or violations immediately
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid Class B commercial driver's license with a "P" passenger endorsement
- 3+ years of recent, verifiable Class B driving (CDL B) experience
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and DOT drug test
- Ability to drive interstate (per DOT Medical Card - non-restricted)
- Ability to pass a criminal and employment background check
- An excellent driving record and ability to pass our MVR requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for documentation of the testing
- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations including HOS limitations
- Ability to walk 1/4 mile per day to and from the vehicle area
