Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a Class B commercial motor vehicle in compliance with all state and federal regulations, company policies, and safety standards
- Safely load, secure, and unload household goods and possessions onto the truck and in a customer’s home, ensuring proper handling and care throughout the transportation process
- Plan and execute routes efficiently to ensure timely delivery while adhering to traffic laws and safety guidelines
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and its equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions for prompt resolution
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, hours of service, and other required documentation, ensuring compliance with industry regulations
- Travel with overnight stays as required
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and special requests in a courteous and professional manner
- Collaborate with dispatch and other team members to optimize route planning and enhance overall operational efficiency
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to goods or equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized truck cab and trailer, promoting a professional image
- Perform any and all duties as assigned
Requirements
- Hold a valid Class B Driver's License for at least one (1) year with a clean driving record in accordance with state laws
- Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience with a verifiable safety record
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing the transportation industry
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to load, secure, and unload household goods as needed
- Flexibility to work varied hours and extended shifts when necessary
- Basic computer skills for electronic logs and communication
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, sometimes weighing up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable with physical exertion, including bending, twisting, and maneuvering in confined spaces
- Ability to sit for extended periods and withstand long hours of driving
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and possess a valid DOT medical card
