CDL B Delivery Driver

American Welding and Gas, Inc. (AWG) is an employee-owned company that manufactures and distributes industrial, medical, specialty, and beverage gases. Headquartered in Raleigh, NC, AWG operates over 100 branch locations and 16 gas fill plants across 20 states.

About the Role

We are seeking a CDL B Delivery Driver to join our team in Lafayette, IN. This role involves driving a vehicle, safely moving and delivering compressed gas and liquid cylinders, and ensuring accurate completion of paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Safely move, load, and unload empty and full cylinders.
• Ensure proper preparation, completion, and accuracy of paperwork, including shipping papers and delivery tickets.
• Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, crouching, and kneeling.
• Driving a vehicle and operating motorized equipment.
• Repetitive movement and prolonged sitting, standing, or walking.
• Working indoors and outdoors as needed, including exposure to increased noise levels and safety hazards.
• Able to lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.).

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Class B CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements (or ability to obtain both).
• Clean driving record.
• Able to read and write English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, back assessment, and company-administered road test.
