CDL A Truck Driver, Floater (Reading, PA)

About the role

This is a full-time job where you will receive 40 hours per week with the possibility of overtime. Your hourly pay will be $29 paid weekly with the possibility of overtime. This is for a floater position.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a daily driver’s log or route sheet for mileage, stops and cargo, or utilizes ELD system.
• Maintains pickup and delivery schedules meeting deadlines utilizing software tools.
• Keeps vehicle and work area clean.
• Supports driver vacations, unplanned coverage needs, and ad hoc customer pickups.
• Operates several types of vehicles as operational demands change such as tractor-trailers, straight trucks, and vans.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years in age.
• Valid Class A License and meet applicable DOT requirements for CDL.
• Minimum of 6-months of verifiable driving experience in the last five years driving a Tractor Trailer (Semi) truck with a safe driving record.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., walk, stand, stoop and bend with or without accommodations.
• Must have the ability to work mandatory overtime that may include weekends, holidays, and/or a different shift with little or no advance notice.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of English to understand and follow safety and other operational directions communicated in English, irrespective of native language.

Pay

Your hourly pay will be $29 paid weekly with the possibility of overtime.

Schedule

You will provide coverage across multiple routes and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift schedules. Here is an example of several route schedules:

• 1st shift: The route can start between 3:45AM – 10AM and end between 12PM – 5PM
• 2nd shift: The route can start after 10AM
• 3rd shift: The route can start at 8:15PM and ends around 3:30AM

The position encompasses 25 routes for all 3 shifts. There are routes that start earlier and end later than the routes listed.
