Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial test vehicles in real-world driving conditions.
- Evaluate vehicle performance and collect valuable data for engineering teams.
- Document observations, concerns, and vehicle performance in detailed reports.
- Use tablets, electronic logging systems, and vehicle maintenance software.
- Communicate regularly with technicians, engineers, and project teams.
- Participate in ride-alongs and specialized testing events.
- Support vehicle transportation and testing activities in various states when needed.
- Properly manage travel documentation, receipts, and expense reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) with a medical examiners certification (MEC).
- Minimum 3 years of safe commercial driving experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Able to follow detailed testing procedures.
- Comfortable using technology such as tablets, electronic logs, and vehicle software systems.
- Able to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- CDL endorsements.
- Passenger endorsement or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
- Experience with vehicle inspections and maintenance reporting.
- Experience securing vehicles with chains, straps, and tie-down system.
Physical Ability
- To lift up to 60 pounds.
- To sit for extended periods, often 8+ hours per shift.
- To enter and exit commercial vehicles frequently.
- To perform vehicle inspections in various weather conditions.
Interpersonal Skills
- Able to work cooperatively in diverse & challenging environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible and receptive to new requests.
