CDL A Shuttle Driver
About the Role
Shuttle drivers are responsible for safely transporting the route trailer they are assigned to the appropriate domicile location prior to the route leave time as scheduled. Before departure, shuttle drivers collect all necessary documents for the route driver they are servicing, such as invoices, messages, and credits from the driver’s mailbox.
Upon arriving at the domicile location, shuttle drivers transfer the appropriate documents to the domicile driver’s tractor and collect all documents left from the prior day’s route, returning them to the distribution center. They are also responsible for delivering supplies like carts and envelopes to domicile drivers as needed.
Schedule
The shuttle driver starts their shift in Cedar Falls anytime between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm (depending on route) Sunday through Thursday nights. The average workweek is 40-50 hours, typically consisting of 8-12 hour shifts. Shuttle routes operate during evening, overnight, and early morning hours.
Requirements
- A Class A CDL is required.
- Good driving record.
- Ability to work independently.
